  I just wanted to drop you a couple of lines to say that the two pups I have purchased from you are doing great both as family pets, and in training. Diva the six month old chocolate lab female is currently being trained for hunting and hunt test, she will be my next hunt test dog and she is doing great thus far. Sassy the four month old chesapeake bay pup I got from you is our first chessie, she is a ball full of energy and is all work and no play when it comes to training. I will probably run her in some hunt test also. I would just like to thank you, Ray and Stacey for breeding such wonderful animals. Anytime somebody see's us out training and ask where I got my pups, I always refer them to Matherne Retrievers. So in closing Ray, and Stacey thanks and keep up the great breeding program you have.

  Just wanted to let you know that we are so glad that we got Coal  from you guys! He is so much a part of our family and such a joy to have around. He is the smartest dog that we have ever had, and can't wait to get him in the blind if he can fit in the boat. He is as black as the night but can see like a hawk I only wish my eyes were that good. he has done so many remarkable things that I never thought a dog could do, and has made us glad that we purchased him. we can't wait until we see what else he will do. thank you so much for Coal he is the best!

Hey there Ray and Stacey

  We really love the dog we got from you, Ranger has turned out to be a great dog.  He's a great looking dog, I mean absoloutly beautiful and also has a great personality, we could not ask for a more loving dog.  Ranger's training is also going good, he has picked up on everything we have taught him quickly, so quickly in fact I'm thinking about putting him into field trials. I would recomend you to anyone who is interested in getting a lab.

 We love this Chocolate Lab! We are so glad we discovered you on the internet. Penny is the last of the litter from Cocoa and Trigger. We get so many complements about her beauty and behavior. She is the most well behaved dog we have ever had. She loves to retrieve (needless to say) and most of the time she is compulsive about it. Penny was and is very easy to train and she minds incredibly well. We will be back again and will refer anyone that is interested in an exceptional addition to their family!

 Hi! Just wanted to drop you an e-mail and let you know what a WONDERFUL little pup Brownie is. He is just an AWESOME dog! He is doing well. He is eating well, playing like crazy, swimming and we all are enjoying him being our new addition to our home. We have been taking lots of pictures that we need to upload from our digital and then I'll send some to your e-mail. He has such a kind disposition and loves to give LOTS of puppy kisses. He had his 1st appt. and is doing well. Hope you all are having a fun summer so far. We'll keep in touch and I'll send some pictures very soon. Tell the family we said hello and give Blade & Cocoa a hug too. They sure made beautiful pups.

 I thought you might like these photos of Scout and Cullen. She is doing really great in her new home. We took her to the vet last week and everything went fine. She has even spent the weekend with us at my parents camp in Fourchon. As you can see in the pictures her and Cullen play well together. That boy really loves that dog.

Hi Ray,
 
 Everything went well this weekend. We had a blast and Mocha is exhausted. She is adjusting well. She only woke up once during the night Thursday and Friday nights and slept all night last night. She's eating well and went to the vet and everything was fine. She can already retrieve. Did you teach her that before we got her? If not, she sure is a fast learner. House training also going well. I think she may miss your daughter. We were at Fontainebleau State Park to visit the lake and Mocha ran towards every young girl about your daughter's age.

 Delta tagged along and got a little messy on a goose hunt Saturday. She wasn't a whole lot of help picking up birds (bigger than her, haha) but she was pretty pumped up just to be out there. She is doing great in her training so far, no gun shyness at all.

 We got home and all the girls, including Wendy, think he is most adorable, and all immediately fell in love with him.  He is very good natured and has taken to the girls holding him, which he seems to enjoy immensly.  The most difficult part is keeping the girls from fighting over him.

Hey Ray,
 Just wanted to say Thank You for for showing my husband, and I Lucy when we came to originally look at puppies. We really LOVE Lucy she is doing very well house broken in a week, she learned to sit on command in a week, and Loves to play fetch with her multitudes of balls. We are very pleased to have Lucy as a part of our family. It had never occurred to me to purchase an older dog but I am so glad we did. Here are a few pics of Lucy-girl.
